Christmas Piñata Workshop – Learn about the Spanish Spirit of Christmas
Piñatas have a long and rich history. Most people believe piñatas are a strictly Mexican tradition, however, the piñata originated in Italy during the Renaissance. In Spain, the word pignatta was changed to piñata, and the custom was given religious significance. The breaking of the piñata occurred only during Lent.
This workshop is a unique and interactive way for students of all levels to experience the Hispanic culture. Kids will be able to learn Spanish vocabulary as they make their own Christmas piñatas! All kids will take home their own pinata with candy inside.

Spanish Language Christmas Holiday Camp
According to Spanish tradition, January 6th is “Three Kings Day”. Spanish children wait for the arrival of Reyes Magos, the Wise Kings from the East who followed a star and came bearing gifts for Baby Jesus. Nowadays, it has become a joyous day for children to receive Christmas gifts.
In this workshop, students will exchange gifts (we suggest books or candies) and will learn simple Spanish words related to the holiday. They will also learn how to introduce themselves to the “Three Wise Kings” and describe to them what Christmas gifts they would like to receive.
