We live in a world where artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly integral part of our lives because of the convenience it brings to several aspects of our daily living. So if you’re looking for a way to make your house cleaning hands-free, wireless, and efficient, a robot vacuum cleaner might just check all of your boxes.

ECOVACS Robotics: Revolutionising smart home-cleaning

Here’s where ECOVACS, which specialises in developing in-home robotic appliances, comes in. The company prides itself in pioneering the integration of vacuuming and mopping into one robot: the DEEBOT.

In its quest to automate and simplify the process of housecleaning, ECOVACS has also developed other domestic robots: the WINBOT for window-cleaning, the AIRBOT for air purification, and the GOAT for lawn-mowing.

To ensure that they remain innovators in the industry, the company set up its own Artificial Intelligence Engineering Institute in Nanjing to focus on devising ways to enhance the capabilities of their products.

What sets ECOVACS robot vacuum cleaners apart?

Quick and accurate mapping

The newer DEEBOT models – such as the DEEBOT T10 Family, the DEEBOT T20 Family and the DEEBOT X1 Family – can create accurate 3D maps so that they know every piece of furniture and pathway in your home, thereby ensuring that they don’t bump into objects while cleaning. They can even do a quick no-clean run-through of the house to generate a map in minutes.

Cleans a wide variety of surfaces

The various DEEBOT models incorporate advanced cleaning technologies to ensure that they thoroughly and efficiently clean a wide variety of surfaces.

The brush and side brushes of the DEEBOT X1 OMNI, for instance, are specifically designed to protect hardwood floors during the cleaning process. On the other hand, the DEEBOT N10 PLUS is best suited to tile floors as its vacuum and mop functions work to get rid of stubborn stains and restore the shine of the floor.

Intuitive cleaning

DEEBOTs use ECOVACS’ own AIVI (Artificial Intelligence and Visual Interpretation) technology – which includes a built-in optical lens – to identify household objects like cables, shoes, and dustbins that are in its path and avoid them. The AIVI technology also updates the database of items the vacuum should stay clear of during future cleaning sessions.

Customised cleaning routine

With the ECOVACS HOME app, users can tailor their robot’s routine to suit their household’s needs. They can programme specific cleaning modes for certain rooms, clean only spills or around selected furniture, and set out-of-boundary zones.

Fuss-free maintenance

ECOVACS robot vacuums self-empty dust into their base stations, which users don’t have to clear for up to 60 days – making it ideal for people prone to allergies. Models with OMNI stations also wash and dry the cleaner’s mop, and even self-clean the station, ensuring minimum maintenance.

Responds to voice commands

ecovacs voice commands

While all ECOVACS vacuums are compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Home, the DEEBOT T10, T20 and X1 series use the interactive voice assistant YIKO. With YIKO, users can tell their vacuum to pause cleaning, ask how much power is left in the battery, and check whether any accessories need replacing, among other recommended commands – all in natural language, thanks to AI voice interaction technologies.
