John Lee Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, has declared today that the government will give away 500 000 free airline tickets as a motivator for tourists to come to Hong Kong, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fred Lam, the Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong added that the complimentary tickets will be granted to tourists from different countries, and, in priority to SEA countries like Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore, followed by Mainland China and North Asia, and lastly other parts of the world.

Cathay Pacific, HK Express, and Hong Kong Airlines will participate in this campaign, which will start on March 1st. Airlines will give away tickets to passengers through various ways, including lucky draws, buy-one-get-one-free offers, and promotional activities.

Another 80,000 complimentary tickets will be given to Hong Kong residents and to the tourists from the Greater Bay Area.
