There are plenty of great restaurants in Central Hong Kong but with so many options, it can be hard to decide which restaurant to try. This is especially the case when you looking for a healthy lunch that also offers value for money.

So, here’s my list of 10 restaurants for lunch in Central that meet all these qualifications! Check them out next time you’re looking for some new lunchtime ideas!

What we like:

  • They produce meals with a balanced combination of carbohydrates, protein, and fats.

  • They have exciting veggie options. Roasted cauliflower? Yes, please!
  • You can add falafel to your bowl. We also love the chickpeas, edamame, and kidney beans.

What we don’t like:

  • Very healthy which is great – but you may not want to eat every day.

Why we chose it:

  • Healthy Chicken sells delicious Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken at reasonable prices.
  • They are really focused on providing healthy, well-balanced meals.

What we like:

  • They use fresh ingredients with no MSG, preservatives, and additives. They also provide information on the calories of every dish.

What we don’t like:

  • Not much we don’t like; they sell healthy, affordable food, but if you’re looking for a swanky venue, this isn’t it.

Summary:

  • Regular-sized Chicken Breast “slow-cooked” Healthy Box costs $70 and includes a piece of chicken with rice, vegetables, and sauce.
  • Despite their name, there are also seafood and vegetarian options available.

Mana! is on the best vegan restaurants for lunch in Central Hong Kong.

Why we chose it:

  • Known for their delicious plant-based flats, salads, and soups, MANA! has been a staple in the community since 2012.

What we like:

  • Try their wrapped wholemeal flatbreads topped with your choice of veggie toppings, or give one of their signature flats a try.
  • The signature falafel flat includes falafel, fresh tomato, romaine lettuce, pickled peppers, parsley, and tahini.
  • The Burgers are also delicious, and you get your choice of homemade vegan patty and sauce.

What we don’t like:

  • The burger is so tasty; wish I had more self-control to try other items!

Summary:

  • This vegan cafe is located in the heart of Soho; offers good value with their delicious food and friendly staff!

Treehouse is a great vegan option for lunch in Central.

Why we chose it:

  • Treehouse is a plant-based eatery that has nailed down tasty vegetarian and vegan lunch options.
  • The menu features vegetarian and vegan options, including signature grain bowls, burgers, flatbreads, and salads.

What we like:

  • Forest burger; a beet and mixed mushroom patty burger
  • Cypress; a flatbread with eggplant caviar, halloumi cheese, roasted vegetables, and rocket for a satisfying veggie meal.

What we don’t like:

  • Not super cheap, but portion size is decent.

Summary:

  • Hip, fun vegetarian, and vegan restaurant you need to try

Why we chose it:

  • I’m not much for cooking but this place has some of the best Middle Eastern dishes around.
  • The menu has a lot of popular dishes – so best to go with a partner in crime and share

What we like:

  • Neighborhood vibe; if you’re eating here on a weekday, the laid-back atmosphere will surely soothe your senses.

What we don’t like:

  • They can be in a hurry for you to leave when you’re done; but given the rents in Hong Kong, it’s understandable

Summary:

  • At SavvyinHK, we love eating at low-key restaurants with great food and a laid-back atmosphere; this particular spot is one that embodies both aspects perfectly
  • It’s close to the heart of Central but tucked away in an alleyway so you can enjoy your meal without any distractions from other people.
  • They are closed on Mondays

Club Rangoon – Best business lunch in Hong Kong  

Why we chose it:

  • Club Rangoon offers authentic Burmese food; you’ll find dishes such as Warm Shan Tofu Noodles and Burmese Pork Stew

What we like:

  • This is one of the most delicious restaurants in town. The service here will make you feel like royalty and their food won’t be boring at all!
  • While this restaurant is on the pricey side compared to other restaurants in this article; it’s one of the most enjoyable experiences  for a low key business lunch

What we don’t like:

  • Can be hard to get a booking; phone ahead.

Summary:

  • Prefer to have a business lunch somewhere unexpected and low-key? Head over to Club Rangoon for a taste-sensation.
