In a bid to draw tourists to Hong Kong after 3 years of stringent pandemic measures, the Hong Kong government joined forces with the Hong Kong International Airport and several airlines to giveaway of over 700,000 free airline tickets for round-trip economy flights and various tourist incentives between March and September 2023. Named Hello Hong Kong, the government hopes to boost the city’s economy and tourism industry, thanks to this campaign.
How to enter
The campaign is divided into different stages, with certain numbers of tickets available for specific regions, and, starting from May 9 over free 3,000 round-trip tickets will be given for flights from London Heathrow or Manchester Airport to Hong Kong. To participate, interested individuals must:
- Register as a Cathay member, ensuring that the name used for registration matches their passport.
- Take a quiz that will be available online from May 9 to May 15, 2023. The quiz consists of a set of questions, and the first 3,260 individuals who answer all the questions correctly will win the flight tickets.
Winners will be notified via email on June 5, 2023. Tickets must be redeemed by July 4, 2023, and lucky travellers will have to fly to Hong Kong within the next nine months, from the date the notification email was received. The length of stay in Hong Kong must be between 2 and 7 days.
In May, Cathay Pacific is also organising giveaways for Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Israel, United States, Canada, UAE, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand.
