What we don’t like:

Summary:

  • This protein powder is pricey, but you really do get what you pay for.
  • Good quality pea-protein with no added nasties means better gut health, endurance, and peace of mind that you are not consuming anything unhealthy.

What we don’t like:

  • I was fine with it, but the smell could be unappealing to some people.
  • Contains stevia. 

Summary:

  • Overall, Sunwarrior Warrior Blend is a great value plant based protein powder.
  • The chocolate flavor was mild and, in my opinion, not offensively sweet. I liked that I was full until lunch and started to feel the benefits of increased mental clarity within a week.
  • However, if you want to stay away from stevia, Sunwarrior does contain this, so probably not the powder for you. 

 

5. Protein Powder Hong Kong – Vega Proteins & Greens  

Vega protein and greens vanilla is one of the best tasting plant based protein powders

Why we chose it:

  • Vega Proteins and Greens really do get you covered in terms of your protein intake. It’s made from a plant-based protein blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, hemp protein, and sacha inchi protein.
  • Not only do you get a hit of protein, but you also get your greens too. This powder includes organic alfalfa powder, spinach powder, broccoli powder, and organic kale powder. No more need for any yakky green drinks! 
  • The vanilla flavor is mild and pleasant, so this comes highly recommended also in terms of taste.

Summary:

  • On balance, Vega Proteins and Greens is a great value plant based protein powder.
  • The vanilla flavor was mild and, like the Sunwarrior Blend, not overloaded with Stevia. 
  • It goes well in many mixes, like vegetable juice, just water, coconut milk, with added berries. I’ve tried it in my baking, and it works well in a cupcake mix.

Garden of Life plant based protein is a great allrounder in terms of delivering your nutritional needs

Why we chose it:

  • This latest version contains less sugar than previously. 
  • This powder didn’t make me bloated. 

What we don’t like:

  • Doesn’t keep me as full as other plant-based protein powders. 
  • It takes a bit of time to get used to the chocolate taste. 

Summary

  • After consideration, Garden of Life’s plant protein powder is a great all-around nutritious powder, even though it took a bit of time to get used to the cocoa taste. 
  • I felt the peace of mind that I was looking after my nutritional needs and my gut health with the added prebiotics.

 

7. Gluten Free Protein Powder – Amazing Grass Protein Superfood Powder  

Amazing Grass' Vegan Protein Powder is one of the best tasting plant based protein powders

Why we chose it:

  • Amazing Grass’ plant based protein powder is packed with plenty of fruit and vegetable nutrition. It has all of the nutritional goodness without chemical nasties. The only downside is that it contains Stevia, which is not to everyone’s taste. 
  • The flavor is surprisingly well-judged. It isn’t too sweet, which for me is a big win!

  • Very filling, which is great as a breakfast smoothie. It may be too filling for a post-workout protein kick. 

What we don’t like: 

  • Has a slightly earthy taste to it. More grainy than some I have tried.

Summary:

  • This protein powder is a fusion of great nutrition and taste. It fills me up until lunch, so it works really well. It will feature as one of my go-to vegan protein powders.

  • I wanted to control my intake of calories, avoid snacking, and also get my protein needs. This drink really hits the spot.
  • Although I won’t be using it continuously, as it is expensive, it’s great for a busy week to ensure I keep healthy.
