This means it’s so much easier to digest. Not only that, pea protein is rich in iron, so perfect for boosting your iron levels. It’s so versatile I’ve added it into my soup at lunchtime.

This protein powder is pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. Good quality pea-protein with no added nasties means better gut health, endurance, and peace of mind that you are not consuming anything unhealthy.

  • I was fine with it, but the smell could be unappealing to some people.
  • Contains stevia. 

 

Summary

Overall, Sunwarrior Warrior Blend is a great value plant based protein powder. The chocolate flavor was mild and, in my opinion, not offensively sweet. I liked that I was full until lunch and started to feel the benefits of increased mental clarity within a week. However, if you want to stay away from stevia, Sunwarrior does contain this, so probably not the powder for you. 

 

5. Vega Proteins & Greens – Vanilla

Vega protein and greens vanilla is one of the best tasting plant based protein powders

Vega Proteins and Greens really does get you covered in terms of your protein intake. It’s made from a plant-based protein blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, hemp protein, and sacha inchi protein.

Not only do you get a hit of protein, but you also get your greens too. This powder includes organic alfalfa powder, spinach powder, broccoli powder, and organic kale powder. No more need for any yakky green drinks! 

The vanilla flavor is mild and pleasant, so this comes highly recommended also in terms of taste.

Summary

On balance, Vega Proteins and Greens is a great value plant based protein powder. The vanilla flavor was mild and, like the Sunwarrior Blend, not overloaded with Stevia. 

It goes well in many mixes, like vegetable juice, just water, coconut milk, with added berries. I’ve tried it in my baking, and it works well in a cupcake mix. 

 

6. Garden of Life Raw Organic Plant Protein Powder – Chocolate

Garden of Life plant based protein is a great allrounder in terms of delivering your nutritional needs

Garden of Life’s plant protein powder goes the extra mile to provide you with your daily intake. Not only does it contain loads of good stuff, but it is also easy to digest, thanks to added enzymes in the mix.

What We Like

  • Isn’t grainy

  • This latest version contains less sugar than previously. 
  • This powder didn’t make me bloated. 

 

What We Don’t Like

  • Doesn’t keep me as full as other plant-based protein powders. 
  • It takes a bit of time to get used to the chocolate taste. 

 

Summary

After consideration, Garden of Life’s plant protein powder is a great all-round nutritious powder, even though it took a bit of time to get used to the cocoa taste. 

I felt peace of mind that I was looking after my nutritional needs and my gut health with the added prebiotics.

 

7. Amazing Grass Protein Superfood Powder – Choc Peanut Butter 

Amazing Grass' Vegan Protein Powder is one of the best tasting plant based protein powders

Amazing Grass’ plant based protein powder is packed with plenty of fruit and vegetable nutrition. It has all of the nutritional goodness without chemical nasties. The only downside is that it contains Stevia, which is not to everyone’s taste. 

The flavor is surprisingly well-judged. It isn’t too sweet, which for me, is a big win!

What We Don’t Like

  • Has a slight earthy taste to it. More grainy than some I have tried.

This protein powder is a fusion of great nutrition and taste. It fills me up until lunch, so it works really well. It will feature as one of my go-to vegan protein powders.

Vibrant Health’s protein powder is impressive, mainly because it has the most comprehensive list of nutritional elements out there. Vibrant Health says that one scoop provides a healthy snack, whereas two is the equivalent of a highly nutritious meal.

In my opinion, the taste is just right because it allows you to sweeten further if you wish. My preference is sweetening with honey.

It keeps me full until lunch, as you would expect from a meal replacement plant based protein drink. The added bonus is the caffeine boost, so it does the job of my first daily coffee too.

This ready-made protein powder drink is excellent for busy lives like mine. I wanted to control my intake of calories, avoid snacking, and also get my protein needs. This drink really hits the spot. Although I won’t be using it continuously, as it is expensive, it’s great for a busy week, to ensure I keep healthy.
