Why I like Cult Beauty UK Makeup

I like using makeup; I wouldn’t dare to leave the house without wearing makeup. But honestly, I want the process of buying makeup to be as easy as possible.

If possible, I’d rather:

  • Buy a makeup product that comes highly recommended.
  • Buy makeup from a selection of items that have already been vetted by an expert.
  • Be able to read genuine reviews about a makeup product before buying.
  • Understand how to use a product before buying.

When I happened about the Cult Beauty website – I just knew that I needed to try it.

Why was Cult Beauty created?

This beauty website was founded by two women who want to create a website selling only the highest quality makeup and skincare on a single site.

In addition, they wanted to:

  • Offer low pricing (remember, if you’re living in Hong Kong, the VAT will be knocked off at the end)
  • Give customers full transparency by providing a large number of genuine reviews.

I’ve enjoyed my experience from buying makeup products at low prices from Cult Beauty – and I’m sure you will do… now, let’s move on to my favorite products.

The best 10 Cult Beauty makeup products

TOO FACED – Born This Way Matte 24 Hour Long-Wear Foundation

Why we chose it:

  • This foundation available from Cult Beauty really does what it claims to do. It stays put for the whole day, and I don’t find myself having to do a quick fix at work. Fab!
  • The foundation doesn’t irritate my oily t-zone, so it’s perfect if you generally have oily skin.

What we like:

  • Waterproof
  • Matt finish
  • Lasts 24 hours
  • Lightweight and natural formula
  • 35 shades to choose from.

What we don’t like:

  • Shades can be slightly darker than on a computer screen. If in doubt, go for one shade lighter.

Summary:

  • Too Faced foundation from Cult Beauty cosmetics is affordably priced, easy to apply, lasts throughout my workday, and requires no attention to maintain the flawless look.

HUDA BEAUY The New Nude eyeshadow palette

Why we chose it:

  • There’s so much you can do with a nude palette and this one has everything from simple to shimmers to take you from day to night.
  • The strong pigmentation means it lasts really well

What’s inside:

  • Bare – beige
  • Crave – light, shimmery brown
  • Play – coral
  • Fantasy – dark, shimmery pink
  • Love bite – burgundy
  • Spanked – rose wine

  • Daydream – light, shimmery pink
  • Tickle – pink/brown
  • Excite – shimmery red

  • It blends really easily so you can put together a look quickly
  • The mirror is a really good size to do your eyes on the go
  • Mattes, metallics, and shimmers work really to make interesting looks

What we don’t like:

  • The packaging is a little basic and doesn’t look as stylish as I’d like

Summary:

  • This nude palette lets you create simple looks or get ready to party with shades that work well together.
  • A little goes a long way, so it might not be cheap but it’ll definitely be worth it.

Power Bullet Matte Lipstick by HUDA BEAUTY

huda beauty power bullet is our absolute fave lippie. Available from Cult Beauty UK

Why we chose it:

  • Power Bullet Matte Lipstick by Huda Beauty is a gorgeous matt-effect lippy. I wouldn’t be without them now.
  • Lovely and creamy, but with the right balance of matt to look, your lips look just fab, in my opinion. Even though the color is intense, you don’t get the lip-drying effect of some lippies I have tried in the past.

What we like:

  • Intense pigmentation is great for coverage.
  • It can be used with a primer or lip balm to extend the wear time.
  • The shimmer eyeshadows are now creamier and thicker, so you use less.
  • Last around 7- 8  hours before they start to lift off.

What we don’t like:

  • Huda Liquid Lipstick lasts longer.
  • Sometimes the shades can appear different from how they appear on-screen.

Summary:

  • Huda’s Power Bullet is, no doubt, my absolute favorite lipstick. Although the staying power is not as good as the liquid lipstick, the luxurious feel on my lips and the color pigment is fabulous.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY Luxury Palette – The Golden Goddess

Why we chose it:

  • This palette is understated chic with a hint of sparkle, perfect for an evening of happy hour cocktails.
  • The velvety look gives an intense look and is lush once it’s on, and it’s virtually crease-proof!

What’s inside:

  • Prime – nude
  • Enhance – shimmery brown
  • Smoke – matte brown
  • Pop – glitter brown

What we like:

  • The creamy texture applies so well and you don’t need a lot to get a lovely effect.
  • It’s really versatile to create different looks – it’s a dream to blend.
  • The packaging is very classy and will sit well in your bag or on your dresser.

What we don’t like:

  • The textures are a little bit fiddly to work with.
  • It’s kind of small so the mirror isn’t much help – not so easy to use on the go.

Summary:

  • We love how this eyeshadow stays on – even if it’s not got the creamiest texture it looks great on.
  • It’s a luxury palette and it shows in the quality, versatility, and overall look it delivers.
  • Check it out at Cult Beauty.

BENEFIT Lash Dream Team Mini Mascara Trio

Why we chose it:

  • Benefit’s mascaras are icons in the beauty industry, and with this mini mascara trio set, you get the best of the best.
  • The sizes are perfect to keep in your bag and touch up your day’s handy work whilst you keep the full-size options at home.

What’s inside:

  • BADgal BANG!, 4g
  • They’re Real Magnet, 4.5g
  • Roller Lash, 4g

What we like:

  • The curl you get on your lash from Roller Lash is amazing thanks to the Hook and Grab brush.
  • BADgal BANG! Defies gravity with its ultra-black formula that gives you dramatic lashes
  • Lift and lengthen ‘til your heart’s content with the They’re Real Magnet – the star of the bunch.
  • They all work well as a standalone mascara but we love combining them to get different looks.

What we don’t like:

  • They’re so small and we want more!
  • The size does make them just a little awkward when trying to get into the corner of your eye.

Summary:

  • Everything you want from a mascara comes in this gift set, from volume to length and lift it’s all covered.
  • If you’re not sure you want to invest in the full-size options, you can test which of the benefit mascaras work best for your look.

Cult Beauty MORPHE FACE The Beat 5-Piece Face Brush Collection

This Cult Beauty Morphe brush set has been a game changer for me when applying my base.

Why we chose it:

  • I love my brushes, so naturally, when I saw this Cult Beauty Morphe brush set, I had to purchase it. This is a brilliant set of brushes that have survived many washes and produce flawless results every time.

Beauty Blender ROSIE POSIE

This is the best beauty blender sponge out there in my opinion. The Rosie Posie 3 pack from Cult Beauty

Why we chose it:

  • The cute beauty blender sponges by Rosie Posie are amazing for creating a flawless base.
  • The Beauty Blender feels so luxurious against my skin. It’s such a relaxing experience.

What’s inside?

  • 3 x beauty blender Sponges (‘Dahlia,’ ‘Rosie’ and ‘Lilac’): Latex-free Hydrophilic Polyurethane
  • 1 x Blender Cleanser Solid Blossom

How to us:

  • Wet the beauty blender with water
  • Squeeze out the excess liquid –  use a towel.
  • Use with foundation, powder, or any other complexion product across the face for flawless results.

What we like:

  • This beauty blender can be used with foundation and many other facial products such as moisturizers, oils, and toners.
  • Absorbent enough to carry facial products, but not too absorbent that it wastes products.
  • Produces an air-brush finish with foundation.
  • Is really soft on the skin, even after a few washes.
  • Makeup lasts longer – the sponge seems to help liquid foundation sink into the skin more effectively.

What we don’t like:

  • On the expensive side, as makeup sponges go.

Summary:

  • The mini-spa pampering experience these sponges offer me is well worth the price ticket. I firmly believe that these are the best beauty blenders out there.
  • Purchase Rosie Posie Blender Set

LAURA MERCIER Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder

candleglow sheer perfecting powder has changed my makeup game. Available from Cult Beauty.

Why we chose it:

  • Laura Mercier powder has been a game-changer for me. It seems to hide all my flaws (well, nearly all of them) and highlight my face’s high points.

What we like:

  • Available in six shades: fair, light, light to medium, medium, medium to deep, and deep.
  • It can be paired with concealer to produce a natural look.
  • Produces a subtle glow without being overpowering.
  • It is really soft on the skin and doesn’t make my skin look dehydrated.
  • This powder lasts a long time.

What we don’t like:

  • The powder doesn’t work as well for oily skin.

Summary:

  • This powder is the best of all worlds for normal to dry skin. My sensitive skin’s appearance is much improved, and I can highlight my best features without the glow being shiny.

HOURGLASS Setting Spray – Veil Soft Focus

Why we chose it:

  • I don’t know about you, but I touch my face during the day, which can lead to my makeup not lasting as long as I would like.
  • Hourglass’ Veil Soft Focus sets my makeup but is also sensitive enough to wear it over my makeup and not feel any skin irritation.

What we like:

  • Enhances the look of foundation, as well as helps set it.
  • Produces a subtle, dewy finish.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin.
  • It helps control oil production if you have oily skin.

What we don’t like:

  • It is pricey.

Summary:

  • In terms of getting close to that photoshop finish, this spray is the real deal. It is light, does what it says on the tin, and is skin kind.
  • The price was hard to swallow, but I would buy it again and again, as this spray really does deliver results that last all day.
  • Buy now From Cult Beauty

HOURGLASS Veil Translucent Setting Powder

Cult beauty codes are available. Hourglass veil translucent powder is fantastic for night looks

Why we chose it:

  • Hourglass Veil is another go-to powder for me. It has a luxurious, more intense finish than my other powders. I use it for special occasions.

What we like:

  • It has a higher class sheen than Laura Mercier’s, even though it a matte finish.
  • Produces a lovely finish without caking.
  • Leaves me with soft skin.
  • Amazing for under the eyes.

What we don’t like:

  • The pot is beautiful but not the easiest to get all the powder out of. Can lead to wastage.

Summary:

  • No matter how much I put on, I haven’t got the  ‘powder face’ feeling. With this powder, my under-eye area doesn’t crease (which it normally does), but my face is so smooth, and my foundation is set.
